The most famous sweet of Sciacca (AG) and of all Western Sicily is the Cucchitella . In March 2021 , still in the midst of the pandemic , the Bar Nuovo Fiore managed to have the "jewel of Sciacca", the Cucchitella , certified at a national level. A process that lasted exactly one year, and then finally recognized as an Italian Artisan Product by the 100% Made in Italy Body , the Official Portal of Italian Producers .

First of all we had to satisfy some of the necessary requirements to reach our goal. The products not only had to be Italian but also designed and manufactured entirely in Italy ; be built with Quality Natural Materials ; made using Traditional Processing Typical of the Territory and finally produced in compliance with Work, Hygiene and Safety. Our Cucchitella managed to obtain the deserved certification because it undoubtedly met the requirements. Thus, after a careful inspection visit and a sampling checked by a Technical Commission, it obtained the Registered Trademark. The correct application of the 100% Made in Italy Certification was checked by a Supervisory Body pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/01 by the Italian Producers Institute with the objective: the Protection, Valorization and Promotion of MADEINTALY .

Why is it important to protect Cucchitella with a Certification?

This Certification serves to eliminate: distinctive signs NOT in line with current regulations , improper use of the wording: MADEINTALY , improper use of the operating Brand, the Italian tricolor flag , and the "Made in Italy" labeling for customs purposes (CE) . It also serves to provide a " Guaranteed Quality" on the Made in Italy Distribution of products and Territorial Excellence in Historic Centers , such as that of Sciacca (AG) , in contrast to Shopping Centers, Large-Scale Retail Trade (GDO), Supermarkets, Markets, Discounts. We have done all this to relaunch Traditional and Typical Italian Production . Today, we are proud to present and propose to you a confectionery Excellence that is entirely from Sciacca and therefore Sicilian, such as our Cucchitella .
